Our programs

Cultivating community resilience through evolutionary programming.

At The Kind Kitchen Group, we believe nourishing communities starts with representing and empowering the diversity within them. That’s why elevating voices equitably across gender, racial and social lines lives at the heart of our cooking lessons, business incubator, and hunger relief programs.

By creating caring ecosystems around food, knowledge and community empowerment, we can overcome social barriers and write a new story of health, pride and possibility.

Literacy Program

Young Cooks Society is our after-school culinary program that we launched at Rogers-Herr Middle School in August 2023. Led by acclaimed female chefs serving as instructors and mentors, our “Young Cooks Society” culinary program utilizes hands-on cooking training paired with food justice literacy to unlock youth potential.

Aligning with academic standards, our weekly curriculum enables students to gain knowledge, nourishment, cultural bonds, career exposure, and changemaker skills transferable to collegiate success. Students author Liberation recipes closing divides, as well as learn about food agency operations and entrepreneurship.

Our quantifiable impact shows participants gaining a sense of belonging, purpose, resilience, and capabilities to lead movements that improve neighborhood health - one nutritious meal at a time.

Black Right Arrow

The Literary Foodies Society is a vibrant community of middle and high school students who share a passion for the culinary arts and the written word.

This program launches at Hillside High School in April 2024, where our members dive deep into a featured literary work - be it a memoir, a work of fiction, or yes, even a cookbook - and explore the myriad ways that food, culture, and storytelling intersect. Through lively discussions, hands-on cooking demos, and creative challenges, they'll not only hone their literary analysis and culinary skills, but also forge deep connections with fellow book lovers and foodies.

The Literary Foodies Society offers the perfect outlet to indulge their dual passions; where reading and eating, storytelling and simmering, become one delicious pursuit.
